people. They will continue random searches of 80-year-old women, little
kids, airline pilots with proper identification, Secret Service agents who
are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old congressmen with
metal hips and Medal of Honor winning former Governors.

My wife looks like an arab, (Hawaiian) and recently returned from a business trip to Arkansas. She was singled out and thoroughly searched FOUR times on the flight home. She was a little ticked off about it but I figure she was getting the extra attention because she was profiled. I told her to be grateful that the agents targeted her instead of some little ol white lady. Shows me at least some security people are using common sense, but I wished I hadn't told her she gets felt-up for her country and should be proud. Sort of ruined the moment.

I don't agree with profiling at all. Not all 17-40 year old male muslims are terrorists. That'd be like saying that all catholic priests are child molesters. I mean come on people. Everyone should be treated equally whether a small group in thier ethnic group terrorizes America or not.

Ok, fine. But from all the above groups where would you look to find a terrorist? Put it another way, not all muslims are terrorists, but ALL terrorists are muslim.


EL-Al has had a remarkably good success rate in preventing terrorism/hijackings on their airplanes by profiling muslims and Palestinians. To find them ya gotta look at where they are. I have no problem with this whatsoever.

 

Which would you rather be DEAD after they blow up the plane, or a little OFFENDED after your safely back on the groud.

 

I have friends that are devout Muslims and they would rather be profiled for the sake of the safety of others than have people get killed.

 

Where are the answers? I got d for all of them; how'd I do?

Profiling is such an emotive term; I prefer to call it the Scientific Method. It only makes sense to address your highest risks first. Like Jimmy the Greek once put it "The fastest horse doesn't always win --- but that's how you bet!
