Door threshold protector missing?

My 06 Lariat Supercrew has a black stick-on protector over the paint on the door threshold (floor) next to the drivers seat, so you dont scratch the paint getting in an out of the vehicle with your shoes. When you look down with the door open, you do not see any painted surface on the floor.
There isn't one on the passenger side, and the paint on the floor gets scratched when the passenger exits. Is this thing missing on the passenger side, and should it be covered under warranty as not having been installed by error at the factory? I called the dealer and the parts dept. lists a left and right side product. Can someone check their passenger side and let me know if this protective stick-on protector is there? Thanks.

Same on my '06 XLT. Maybe they figuer the driver gets in and out more often so they put it on just the one side. I think it would be great if they had it on both.

My 04 scab has it on both sides. I also have keylocks on both the drivers and passenger side doors.

Ford must have cut some corners in '06. My '05 has both sides. I did buy the extra cab sill plates: http://www.f150store.com/Shop/ViewPr...&PlateTypeID=1

They are a perfect match to the factory originals.

man this is cheap....fully equipped Lariat and if you want the sill plate for the passenger side you have to buy it? What cheapness will they think of next? Disgusted.

Yep, another cost saving move by Ford!

You can look into the Auto Ventshade stepshields. They have the diamond plate pattern like the plastic sill/door trim along the carpet. The black ones match perfectly with my FX4 black interior.

They come in a set of 4 (front/rear) and I only paid $34 shipped for them (this price was like a year ago though, they might have gone up). I used the rear ones on my truck, and my fronts are still the stock Ford ones. I plan on trimming and reusing the Ventshade front ones in the rear of the next Screw I might buy in a year or two. I got them from TruckXcessory.com if anyone is interested (best deal online I could find at that time). That F150store.com listed above can have some ripoff prices!

Steve
