98' Explorer won't start

I have a 98 ford Explorer 4wd w/a 4.0L w/auto. I am having trouble ocassionally with the vehicle starting and I think that it has something to do with the anti-theft system. It has keyless entry as well as the keypad on the door. Most of the time I can get it started by pressing the door lock and unlock buttons, but this time I tried everything that I can think of and it hasn't started in 2 days. The engine will just crank and crank but won't start.I just wanted to know if there was anyone else that might have had the same problem, and how it can be fixed. I also took it back to the dealer and it would never do it for them it would start right away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have had the same problem - happened 3 times over the last year or so. Just happened again this week, and I came upon the idea (that you apparently already found) of hitting the buttons on the remote control (did lock, unlock, and panic) and it started just fine. My Ford dealer also has not been able to tell me what is wrong. Let me know if you found a reason why this happens!

Thanks
