I've worked very hard to get this far. I've also signed a deal with Miller Manufacturing to build a portable 500 gal/day plant that will be for sale to large farms and Co-Ops, Its a joint-venture deal so I will make money on the design work and they will build and sell them.
I think I may lease the farm and do this full time, what do you think?
FABMANDELUX.
Actually, Fab, it sounds like a GREAT idea. With the farm as a back-up revenue stream, you have the financial strength to 'spread the vision'. Combine this with knowledge, experience and a growing (positive) reputation as a can-do guy, and you're in an outstanding position to have a real effect on the grass-roots growth of this industry. Ya see, you're dealing with folks who truly see the value of energy self-sufficiency in their daily lives and are willing to vote with their pocket books - BIG pocket books. Move over Bio Willie!!
Guys, you seem in the know on this subject. A nagging question is "Can the US ag industry produce enough biomass to make a dent in the fossil fuel dependency? I am certainly hopeful, but I keep going back to that basic question.
Meanwhile, I am tryin to gear up on a small scale for my '02 7.3L. I'll try not to bug you until I have exhausted the material on this post and BD websites. Wish I knew someone around New Orleans doing it at home...
No problem, Fabman aka Don has many answers when he is not busy. These are rough numbers on plants...Soy is 60 gal per acre of bio/ corn I dont remember and canola can be 150 to 300 depending irrigation...Fab will key up here tonight and give exact numbers

In a word....YES! Last year the US produced 25 million gallons of Biodiesel. This year the US will produce 75 million gallons. With the building of just the new plants started this year and those in the planing stages we should produce 500 million gallons within 5 years. That is just the tip of this, when you consider the number of farm Co-Op's that are in the planing stages that number could double in the next 5 years, thats 1 BILLION gallons!
When you consider the new technologies for producing bio from the 5 billion tons of ag waste that we produce each year the number will grow even more.
We may not be able to produce all the diesel we need, but every gallon that we do produce is one less gallon we have to import.
I belong to several biodiesel forums and will have a look to see if there is someone in your area for you to network with.
Troy................you are not going to believe this, but..................I went to an auction today and I was the ONLY bidder there!!! I bought 8 semi loads of "stuff" for $1, yep $1!!! The only thing I went for was a 63 Ford short-bed F-100 that is mounted on a 82 Ford Crown Vic chassis that runs and is driveable and a 56 C-750. But I bid $1 and got 2 acres of stuff and the contents of the building. I need to pinch myself just to make sure I'm not dreaming
I'll post pics in my gallery tonight so you can see.

Thats mighty nice of you. Fabman is actually working on a optic sensor to tell the difference between the opaque glycerin and the honey or clear oil. I dont think Fab would do it for free, he is working on plants that if he goes under every 10k he gets 2k. Im sure if your time is worth something to Don. He is spreading the knowledge and in turn spreading the wealth on this forum, an astonishing man and very helpful. He's my new Grandpa.

Thanks for the kudos Chad, but after all I'm just a fabricator with a few ideas.
I have no idea where the plant is going in, in Texas. I do know that is isn't going to be built till next year and won't be on line untill 08. When they tell me, I'll let you know. Great to see your back on the boards!
