Ever have one of those days? I spent the afternoon and evening sanding my hood down to bare metal yesterday. I was feeling really good about it. I only have a couple small dings and one little spot of rust on the front lip and some side molding holes to fill. So I went to bed thinking couple more hours of work and its ready for sealer. I woke to the sound of rain. My first thought of taday was crap I left the truck outside. I didn't want to get my nice shop all dusty from the sanding so I stripped the hood outside. I sure hope the rest of the day goes better. I'm just going to go make some coffee now, I have work to redo.
Sometimes you have to fight the Ford Gods to show your devotion to your "Slick". or it could be that the Ford Gods were so happy to see another slick being taken care of, that it rained "Tears f happiness" After your coffee go outside and smile to the heavens. it will be a good day.
I too agree; it could be alot worst; I had my hood all ready for paint and a strong wind blew it over and gave me a couple of more hours of fustration. But that's part of the slick life. My luck I would of not only gotton my bare metal hood wet, but I would of left my carb uncover to allow it to take a bath as well.
i could have been a lot worse, one windy day i was sitting watching tv and all of the sudden i heard the horrific crash, i looked out side and there was a silver leaf maple hood ornament on my hood. The tree was 18 in diameter, but luckily it fell over a pine tree that slowed its descent thus saving my truck from serious damage. it only bent the hood up, landlady paid 2600 for my repairs.

Don't feel bad, I forgot my 5 year old grandson was here and I put my hood on the ground beside the truck. When I saw him he was airborn over the center. The 65 hood will not hold an airborn 5 year old.
An airborne 5-year old! I can see the image; he's in the air, knees pulled up to his chest so he can REALLY stomp down hard when he lands! That's great...I can understand your panic/suprise with the rain on the hood, especially being in San Diego...
