93 F150, 4WD, auto trans, 112K miles, 1 driver since new, in repair shop for first time ever just this month; bad hubs, ball joints and front axles - $1400 - no time to attempt it myself and no doubt that is just as well given abilities. Would not start early one morning, purchased starter relay (called solenoid at NAPA) that evening, it had extra terminal, changed it in hard rain (best excuse that comes to mind) and screwed up such that would start but starter wouldn't kick out (would not stop spinning). Thought I may have drained battery by the time next got to work on it. Battery charged but nothing, no lights, radio, etc. So I have been trying to ID exactly what a fusible link might be, hoping I blew one of those instead of something more expensive. I purchased another relay but am still confused since it doesn't look like the old one (which was one I had put in years ago). Haynes manual not much help. Advice or ideas? Thank you very much.
Making sure the starter relay is connected right would be a good place to start. My truck is not the same as yours but here is a link to a post on how mine is connected. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=434411
Maybe you could find a truck like yours at a salvage yard, take notes and draw a sketch on how its relay is connected.
Check all your fuses.
Make sure your battery is still charged up.
The only time I ever saw a fuse link blow, there was some smoke and the smell of burning plastic from it.
