ive been a member of this forum for about 6 months now, and i feel like i have discovered the holy grail of passionate old ford truck lovers. this site is with out a doubt the best forum on the net that provides a fountain of knowledge and imformation. ive noticed that the same questions get asked over and over just worded differently. things like, toyota steering; lowering; rearend swaps; power windows. ive been guilty of all these, and you guys always use patience and poise and tell people that there is no such thing as a stupid question. so heres to people like AX; BOBBYTNM; FOMOKO; FAT FENDER56; JAGRED54; IM LOWER2; ALBUQF-1; SIERRABEN; 4TL8FORD; RANDY JACK; 51FORD FAN and anyone else out there who has taken the time to have thousands of post on this site.
I agree that this forum is the best one on the web and I'm flattered to be included in your acknowledgement.
I have only been a member for a couple of years and, like you, have gleaned tremendous benefit from this forum. Two years ago, different folks were more active and were doing the bulk of the job of answering all those repeated questions. They still chime in from time to time, but I think it's up to the rest of us to give Fatfenders, jniolon and Earl a break by taking up the job.
Just try to pass it forward. You'll be a source of info for the next crop soon enough...
Well said Randy, Pay it forward. I have no way of counting how many helpful posts and private messages I received while I was building my wife's truck. So I feel compelled to help if I can. And someday when I grow up, I want to be funny like Niolin!
i agree ive only been a member for a couple of months and i really apreaciate all the guys on this forum that have answered my quostions a really big thanks to yall
thanks for the nod, I am just an OOF who likes to share info and experiences. Hats off to ALL the guys/gals who make this site work, both on-line and off
Thanks for the mention.
At one time or another we all had to ask those types of questions. When I first started, I was to small to get wacked upside the head for dumb questions, as I got older the wacks came for repeated dumb questions, for not going to the book, or for not using common sence.
With the "puter" age, the wacks given or taken are the virtual type and are not always as effective. Sometimes I'd like to be able to just reach out and--------.
Another thing missing now is watchin over someones shoulder while they did something new.
Here's to the Best Darn Site on the Internet and the Best people around, even those who are just a speedbump on the highway.
I couldn't agree more ! Even when your alone in the shop you know that help is only as far away as the keyboard. Theres always someone here to help.
This site has been by most helpful tool.
Thanks to All
Mike
Thank you very much for you kind words. I found this board a couple of years ago and have recieved tons of support and guidance, even when I was a new guy and asking all the new guy questions. The people here are just amazing! I learn new stuff every time I log in.
I too work alone most of the time, but I know that if I ever get stuck on something or need a motivational kick in the pants to get me moving this site is right there.
I too have learned much from this site. My problem is too much time here and not enuff on the truck
I started my mechanical life sitting on the fender of my Uncle's race car, handing him wrenches when I was still in diapers. There was always more friends around and you could learn from watching others work. Now I work alone more and more(guess I shouldn't be such a moody grouch at times). This site keeps me entertained and when I get stuck on something these guys are always helpful.
