Question for the DD guys

I was wondering what numbers my 460 on the desk top dyno makes. I have somewhat of an odd 460. It's a '90 efi 460 (238hp). I swapped it into my 79 bronco. I didn't use the efi setup. Instead, I raised the compression to 9.8 : 1. Port matched, opened the heads( intake and exhaust) and the intake manifold to the gaskets( stock aluminum manifold) . I use a high rise intake adapter with a 600cfm Holley. Stock exhaust manifolds into 3in exhaust piping and 3in glass pack.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Frank

It won't be making grand HP numbers with that small a carb, but I bet the torque and throttle response is darned impressive. Just off the top of my head I would guess that you are probably getting 250-275 Hp and 420-430 lb-ft at the crank.

a 600 cfm carb should actually be enough for a 460. If the high rpm is 5500, then the engine could use 732 cfm. But no engine is 100% efficient. If you guess that mine is about 80% efficient, it would use 585cfm at 5500 rpm. Of course if your high rpms are higher, you need more air/bigger carb.
