When I registered my 06 crew cab sb 4X4 F350 SWR the only time I had to pay more than my 02 super cab sb 4X4 F250 SWR is when I licensed it for 12 tons to cover my trailer instead of 5 tons. I already have commercial insurance so they didn't care about the F350 vs. 250. However There are a few insurance companies that won't insure 1 ton trucks. I pull a pintle hitch 10 ton flatbed trailer with a skid loader, attachments, and fuel tank on a daily basis. Combined weight of trailer with load is approx. 8 ton. My F350 handles the trailer ten times better than my F250. It even rides better but that is probably because of the longer wheelbase, bigger tires, and improved front end. If you plan to pull a trailer definetely get the integrated brake controller it is by far superior to add on controllers.
Wait a minute BFR, I'M not blasting anybody. I didn't name names. All I am saying is This has been covered Time and Time again. I can say what I want just like you....It's still America right ? Thanks....
Absolutely, you can say whatever you want. But to jack the guy up for asking a question, while not providing a bit of useful info, is completely uncalled for.
Just because it's not an issue that YOU are concerned with, does not mean that others don't want to talk about it. As I said before, YOU have the option to read, participate, and discuss in any manner you like. But keep it semi professional, semi intelligent, and assist someone looking for an answer. A simple reply such as, "Try a search", or "Here's a link", or "Check this out" gets it's point across.
Let's try this on for size.....
How many times do folks ask it a tire will fit? EVERYDAY!
How often do guys ask about auto hubs? EVERYDAY!
How man guys have a vibration? Tons!
How much power does a V8 have? Will it tow my trailer? Will I need to change the exhaust? Etc, etc, etc....
Get the point!
A little courtesy goes a long way bud. Next time YOU have a question, hopefully no one will be as discourteous to you as you were to him.
Have a nice night,
BFR

the rear axles on srw 250's and 350's are identical, same shafts and all, they are both sterling 10.5", the drw 350 has the dana 80, although i thought theywere 35 spline too? ive never pulled a shaft on our cab and chassis 350 to check though
thats sweet, if i would have known that i would have bought a 350, i wonder how soon before the companies come out with lockers and such for the 37 spline axle. ill have to pick up a set of shafts and the centersection to throw in my 10.25 in my 76!
Yeah, that's the only problem with getting the 350; nobody is making the aftermarket parts yet to support the rear axle.
Not that most 350 owners are gonna mod the snot out of their truck (axles anyway), but it would be nice to have the same availability of parts.
Heck, the only selectable for the rear 10.5 is the ARB. Nobody (other than the OEM Ford stuff) has lockers, LS's, or shafts to go in that bigger rear either.
