starter going bad????

but wait theres more..lol talk about annoying.
the one I got at autozone did not fit!
it was wayyyy too tight. I got mad and bought A new starter for it instead. I have another to take back for core, so im still gona fix that starter just for spite...lolChanging a bendix is not hard at all though.
here is how (assuming you are not replacing the brushes.
1: Remove the band on the back side.
2: remove the cover that sticks out on the side.
3: push the pin that holds across the actuation rod in place, it just slides out.
4: lift the rod out
5: remove the 2 bolts from the back of the starter.
6: Gently remove the nose cone, it pulls out easily.
NOtE: If not replacing brushes, try to make sure armature dont come out.
if it does, no big deal, just a little extra aggravation when assembling.
7: Remove the centering bushing (note the way the small rim points.)
8: remove second ring. This one has a wire clip inside holding it in.
( you can possibly push that ring back towards the bendix and leave
the wire ring wide open to get to.)
9: With a slight pull and a twist, the bendix will come off.
10: Do a little dance called the hootchy-kootchy, and if you have one, pet your 3 legged cat. (thats what I did)
11: Twist the new bendix on, and reverse process to assemble.

If I managed to miss a step, fill it in for me fella's iv been up since 6 am on saturday, and its 4:15 am on sunday now..lol I dont sleep much
Good luck!
