i have a 1979 ford f-250 which was converted in to a 4x4 before i bought it. i recently ripped a brake hose and when i went to buy a new one they never matched up the right hose for the truck. it seems that the hose the brake hoses and calipers are off a chevy pickup. why would someone do such a thing? well i guess that explains why i couldnt stop the other day.
If it's a front brake hose it's possible someone swapped in a Chevy front axle. If you're looking at the front of the truck, what side is the differential on? If it's on the right, it's a Ford; if it's on the left, it's a Chevy. Could be why the brake hoses and calipers are different. If you can post a picture of the front axle we could probably find out for sure what kind it is.
it is a D44 high pinion front axle for a ford. the pumpkin is on the drivers side. but it has tyhe chevy calipers on it off of a 79 chevy 4x4 front end
