Need help removing injectors. have a couple downloads on procedure would like schematic of engine breakdown so I know I'm taking right peices and parts loose in a sorta correct order.
Thanks
Steve
How long did it take? I'm a basic shadtree'r (starter, alternator, exhaust) but was a little concerened when I read about oil going into the bore and causing hydrolock. I can afford the injectors but not the 400 the shop here wants to charge for install. Oh while I'm doing it is it a good time to put new glowplugs in too?? Anyone have an install write up on that?? Thanks
i wouldnt bother with the gp's unless there not working.
its a easy R&R just get a syringe to suck the oil out of the cyl i always pull my gp's and spin the motor after the injectors are back in just to make sure also. the gp's just need a 10mm deep socket to get out there easy also. and right next to the injectors.
i think theres a write up on the top of the main obs powerstrokes
Nevermind. That $400 includes motorcraft glowplugs, compression test and install of injectors. But I just got off the phone with Chris @ Beans. Stage 1's are shipping out today. I did the reman's. I've been waiting a year to do this, I always said when I have the money I'll do it. After a year I thought no matter what I'm never going to have 1500 laying around. Good thing they take Visa!!!
I also got a gp relay. My truck almost didn't start this morning. I amp gauge goes to almost 0 then after 30 secs it pings back up. This morning I turned the key and had to go back into the house for a minute when I got back in the truck it didn't want to start. Had to turn the ignition back off then after 15 secs I turned the key and started right up.
