Supercab vs Crewcab
Chris -
Not sure if you have kids or not, but for me I have an 8 and a 9
year old, and I love my CC for the simple matter that they can open
their own doors to get in/out of the back.
Plus, the extra legroom is great b/c I drive w/ the seat all the way
back. Anyway, those were my main reasons for the CC over the SC.

get the c.c. you will love it BUT DO NOT GET THE F-250, GET THE F-350. when you go to the c.c. and f-250 you have very little payload left, do some checking.......too many poeple buy F-250's when they need or should have got the F-350. unless you are never going to load up the bed or get a anything but a tag trailer.

if its just the two of you, and you dont really need a truck, then get a crewcab shortbed F-250 (because your wife wants the crewcab and she is always right)
if you have kids you really need a crewcab, unless they are dwarfs.
if you need a truck and have more than two people you need a crewcab longbed F-350
if you haul a trailer of any size or have a big cabover camper, you need a crewcab dually F-350

Supercab vs Crewcab
For a long time, I wanted a Super Cab truck, since all I've had all my life are regular cab trucks. But when I went out looking for new truck I came home with a CrewCab with a long bed (I would never have a full size truck with a short bed, I just dont see the point in it).
My reasoning was this: I use the truck to go out to the desert and ride motorcycles and I like to sleep inside the truck and keep my gear and bikes in the back. (I dont like having to remove and rearrange everything so I can sleep in the back, in the cold and the dust, when I can sleep inside instead.) However, sleeping in the front seat isnt much fun, and there really isnt enough room to sleep comfortably in the back of a Super Cab, so Crew Cab was the obvious choice for me, or get a camper again, which right now I cant afford and dont have any room to store iether. I dont use the truck for daily around town driving, so I dont mind the long wheelbase too much. The long wheelbase does make for a better ride though.
The side benefit of having the Crew Cab is that now when I do take more than one other person in the truck with me, everybody can ride comfortably instead of all crammed up in the front of the truck. Im very happy with the Crew Cab, happier than I thought I would be, the length of the truck isnt so bad as I thought it would be, and when the time comes to replace this truck, it will be with another Crew Cab. I didnt think I would hear myself say that, I always thought Crew Cabs were rediculously long Texas Limozines or something like that. LOL
On the F250 vs F350 issue, I would get the F350 in a truck of this size and weight if you intend to haul a camper or trailer. Sure you can overload a 3/4 ton and it will work fine, but why not get the heavier duty truck so you can tow/haul safely without overloading?

Using www.kbb.com to compare a 1999 F-250 SD supercab ($17,615) to the same 1999 F-250 SD Supercrew ($20,900) you come up with a $3200 difference. Six to ten years from now, the chances are anyone interested in your truck, would probably pick the four door over the supercab and pay a $1000 extra for it.
