Ok, I found a 2003 Super Crew at a local dealer online. He is telling me that the axle code is D5. I know it's not 3.55's and it is LS. Is it 3.73's?

 

Not any 3.73 code used that looked like that from '97-'03. A 3.73 in the F-150/250LD was 26 or B6. The codes used during those years usually had a 1 or an H to start (I know you know that...but I'm rambling), the only exceptions were the 3.31s, 3.73s and 4.10s (2's and B's) in the 7700s, Lightnings, H-Ds, and the tow packages availalbe during that time frame.

Could be a combination od being blind and misunderstanding the person. It might be a B6... B sounds like D and the 5 may resemble a 6 if their is a nick or something wrong with it.
