Driveshaft help needed

About a month ago I pulled my driveshaft off and took it in to a repair shop to have the ujoints replaced because I couldnt' get the rusty things out. Well anyways, the shop manager told me that they had a helluva time getting them off as well...and in the process they dropped the driveshaft on the concrete floor, and they think they cracked the part that holds the balancer (part name...????). Since then it has been developing a slight squeak (not anything like that as when the ujoints were going out) and it started as intermittent, but now it is constant. What is this part called at the rear of the driveshaft that bolts onto the rear axle? I've tried all the junkyards here in town, and none of them have one for my particular truck (2000 F150 Lariat extended cab, 4x4)...so where can I look online to find one, once I figure out what it is called? Also, how do I tell which transmission I have? They all ask which tranny...adn I have no idea?
Thanks in advance
Shawn

Check your sticker on the door jam. There will be a code. Poke around the site and you should find a door jam sticker decoder.

Wait the shop you took your driveshaft to dropped the shaft and it broke and instead of getting a new one or even checking it they gave it back? I'd go back and tell them they broke it, they fix it.

Could also be the yoke that the u-joint and pinion flange couple with. Good luck, yeah take it back those are not that fragile.
