new to me, from NPD, they have an electronic unit to replace the constant voltage regulator for the dash gauges, attaches with one screw in the original location, a little pricey for me $60 but someone may be interested, the originals go bad eventualy
May want to go online, or if you have the catalogs, check with some of the Ford parts suppliers may be able to find part little cheaper. Catalogs I have somewhat outdated, LMC list part as 'voltage stabilizer instrument' p/n 47-0894 for $30. John's F100 has item listed as 'instrument voltage regulator' for $40, p/n 10804.
Sorry hiball, should have picked up on the electronic feature. I would probably put out the extra money, seems the unit would be more durable, and perhap the electronic component would stablize instrument readings.
Just to add from another recent post;from SCWIDVCIOUS "confused about fuses", last posted 6-18-06; that some local auto parts store stock a constant voltage regulator, don't know the whole out-come of if its a reliable part as good as OEM or not, IMHO all reproductive parts never seem to last as good as the OEM parts.
but thanks for posting another parts number to assist us in maintaining our Slicks...
so far so good, the old type is working for me, but its not even had time to break in yet..lol
It is sure nice not to have to jab the break and listen for the sloshing and trying to figure out how much gas I have, or the ol stinky gas stick, not to mention oil pressure, and temp gauges..lol When or if this one goes out I might try a solid state unit. Until that time, I will stick with the oldschool..lol
