Sorry to get your hopes up with an empty reply, but they can figure this kind of thing out for you at most sears auto centers or any type of place like that. Hope this helps

31" is the usual answer for 4x2 and 33" is the usual answer for 4x4.

I assume the stock tire is a 235-85r16? That works out to 31.7"...

I would like to go larger on my '93 F250 eventually as well, and all the replies I've gotten are that I would have to shim out the front bumper (4x2) to get 33"ers to fit.

on my 88, i was about to fit 33x12.50's with rubbing on the radius arms only. i now have a 4" suspension lift and it still rubs on the radius arms when i am turned all the way. My rims are only 10" wide. I had 36x14's on (with the lift) and they actually didnt rub at all, because i had wider rims, prolly 12"

Some trucks are different. I have noticed some are more level then others. i am still saying 33" are the biggest you can go before it hits the bumper. I would go with 10" wide if you do though..

Thumbs up

you can upgrade to an LT265/75/R16 tire if you have 16" rims. Any larger you have to worry about the tire rubbing on the leaf springs.

1991 was the last year that a 33x12.50 tire fit without some type of bumper mod. In 1992 when Ford changed the body style just a bit the bumper curved back just a little more. I found the easiest way to solve this problem was to use a reciprocating saw and trim just the lower corner off of the front bumper. Ford's chrome bumper resists the rust at this spot for years to come. Even in Ohio where we over salt the roads.

you can get 33's but wont get a good alignment. You can easly get 265's and 31's underthere

I only have one question. WHY WOULD THERE NOT BE A GOOD ALIGNMENT? My father has had 1988 Ford F-250 4x4 and ran 33x12.50 tires. He also had a 1993 Ford F-250 4x4 and ran 33x12.50. Both of which never had any alignment problems of any type. He ran BFG All-terrains to their fullest at around 50,000 miles. I have a 1996 Ford F-150 4x4 and I have no problems running 31x10.50. And I ci=ould have gone up to 32x11.50. I am just saying that a F-250 or F-350 would lokk funny with a tire that fits a half ton. But I have no idea why there would be any alignment problems as surfincowboysrt4 states. Maybe he had troubles with ball joints and never did anything about it.

i had 31's on my 1/2 ton with no issues, but i tried bigger and coulnt get the camber right since there isnt an adjustment for them. thats why when i got my 6" lift it was made for 35's cause its set for the camber for that specific height tire. Ya you can put bigger on but tread life will be sacrifced.

You can adjust the camber by changing the "camber nuts" in the upper ball joints.
