Harmonic balancer, crank position ring, one unit?

Harmonic balancer, crank position ring, one unit?
Went mudding in my 96 F150 2wd, don't ask why. But anyway, got a check engine light, crank position sensor "b" not reading, or something like that. I replaced the sensor and the light came back on and it was the same falt. The trigger it's self has some knicks in the ends where the sensor reads it, so I was thinking of replacing the wheel. Is the balancer and the wheel or trigger one peice? And does anyone have any other suggestions that may help?
