When my 2000 F250 PSD Automatic is cold the only way I can describe the noise is a whine. It remindes me of the noise old vans make when there getting up to speed. It sounds like its in the Tranny. It only happens until it warms up.
I also noticed a similar noise when towing my Camper and Boat. It only happens in OD going up a hill. The gear holds (No Hunting) but that whine bothers me.
I just had the Tranny Flushed.
Do you think its a problem or should I just relax?
I'm thinking serpentine belt, tensioner pulley or maybe some bearings going south on a pulley. How new is your belt? If it needs replacing you might want to replace the tensioner pulley with it. Good deal on these items online.
