I have a 49 F-1
I know they didn't have seatbelts, radios were optional, the passenger side tail light was optional, no backup light, and no turn signals. But did they come with two outside mirrors, or was that an option too?
I would appreciate any help
Joe
Welcome to the board! Always good to have another bonus built truck around here.
Trucks were pretty basic back then. They were bare bones. I have seen side mounted rear view mirrors that attach to the upper door hinge. I'm betting that there were options, especially on the passenger side.
When you get a chance get a gallery set up so we can see your pride and joy.
To clarify my statement, those trucks were "Bare Bones" from the Dealership, if you what anything Other than a "Bare Bones" truck you had to Order that Option specifically.
What a big difference from trucks of today huh? Back then when you bought a truck, you bought a TRUCK. You didn't buy a fancy vehicle for everyday driving, you bought a tool designed specifically for work.
I have put some pics up for all of you to look at. I'm sorry I don't have many, and don't work on it much. I am living in Kansas and it is in Iowa. (no place to put it)
But I will add pictures as I get them.
As for the mirrors
I have seen the ones that mount on the door hinge's and am pretty sure those were factory. I just wasen't sure if it had to have both of them.
I appreciate the help.
