Over the past 6 months on my '99 XLT w/ 5.4 V-8, I've noticed that when using the windshield washer, the fluid keeps squirting out long after I let go of the button. Also when I turn the **** to activate the wipers they either or both, take a while to start and then keep wiping after I turn them off on the multifunction switch. I've tried replacing the swich with a new switch from my Ford dealer and the problems didn't go away. Has anyone else seen this problem and know how to resolve it?
I am having the same problem on my 99 XLT EB. Have you found what the problem is? The only difference I have is my rear wipers finally quit. The front now seems to take minutes to finally shut off. Also going through a lot of wiper fluid.LOL If any one knows what the issue would I am open for ideas. Thanks
RJ, no change since the previous post in June. Still the same delay. Only in the front wipers. No issues with the rear wipers. Have added a problem with the OD button tho. That seems to work for the first few minutes after the truck is turned on but after that the button is non-functional. If I unplug the switch in the shifter it will resume normal operation. Haven't tried replacing the switch yet, it's on my to-do list.
