loud grinding when starting
Hi, I'm sure this is probably an easy one but I cant figure what could be causing the loud friction grinding sound after the truck starts for a couple of seconds. It goes away with time or when I turn the key back off. I'm hoping it is the ignition lock and not the starter, for I got the starter about two years ago rebuilt.

sounds like the bendix is not retracting from your starter after you release the ignition. It is more than likely your starter.
have it tested.
