I have the 3.0 flex just to clarify. But the other day I did the maf mod to it and now have a C.E.L. indicator on. The codes I pulled are PO171,PO174. So that means that banks 1,2 are running lean..... I unhooked the negative cable for an hour then let truck idle for 20 mins, it runs fine but after I drive for ten minutes or so that blasted light comes back on , and Ive done this several times. What gives the only time I pulled a PO102 code was when I unhooked the M.A.F ... And heck I think it ran better than with it on "no pings". Whats making my truck run lean? If its the M.A.F is there any thing else I can do to it to fix this crap...
Oh and by the way its the maf that is complete cast alum.
In any event, any modification to the sensor signal to the PCM is going to force the computer programming to attempt to compensate for it.
Chances are, the "mod" is incompatible with the PCM programming, so the computer cannot get operating parameters back into tolerance using its adaptive programming.
As suggested, undo whatever mod you did, then reset the computer.
This the M.A.F mod. http://www.rogueperformance.com/ModifiedMAF.html...... Heck I know the answer is obvious but it was still worth asking "at least to me" I have done lots of reaserch and read many good things about doing this mod. But like everything you take risks.
