Hello everybody. Been a long time subscriber to this site. I traded my old super duty (2k1 4x4 w/v8) for a 2k4 with a V-10. Love the new motor....lets of power and smooth as a babys bottom. I have been reading about the spark plugs "blowing out" problem. One way sugested to help keep this from happening was to use "coated" plugs and to change them. My question is, there are enough SD owners on here there ought to be a good idea of the best plugs to use as replacements. My truck has the v-10 with 24xxx miles and I thought I would change them just to check them out. So......can y'all tell the best plugs to use? Thanks a bunch as always.
Stick w Motorcraft or Autolite These guys know where they're comming from. I put Bosh in on the advice of a friend that owns a V-10 excursion. I went thru three days of hell because of two plugs that were cracked in the identical place and pattern. when I found the cracks, I threw the damn things away! Put in the motorcrafts, they're specificaly designed for the V-10! Now supercharged engines are completely animals! Also look up the section on changing plugs and follow it! I can now change my plugs in about 1hr 10 mins. Thanks Guys great info!
Whew, I'm glad to hear that the Autolite and Motrocraft plugs are the same. I recently bought a set of the Autolite Platinum's that were recommended for the V10 and then thru some research on here, found everybody was using the Motorcraft plugs. Then, NAPA didn't wanna take my plugs back cause they didn't carry Motorcraft plugs to exchange and din't wanna give me cash back. Thanks for the info Cap and Art!!!
