I have been thinking about changing the front clip on my 66 to get away from the "twin I-Beams". I haven't done any measureing yet but was wondering if a clip from a 65-67 Galixie would work. Seems like it would be a good choice, engine mounts etc. Anyone got any ideas?
Drop beams will get you just as low and maintain the stock steering geometery.
Now if it was a straight axle truck then a clip or MII or On of steves Dakota setups are the ticket.
If you want it to handle and ride like it is on rails drop the entire truck on to a mid eighties crown vic chassis. That is if your state laws allow this...
