Will an exhaust brake impair either of the above?
Will a 4" exhaust do the same? Improvement of air-intake sys?
With an exhaust brake should you install a torque converter lock up???
What is the trans style in a 02,, 4R100 or the E4OD??
Programmable chip for a miniscule 69hp/135T gain... something you can un-program when you or b4 you take it to a dealer..
With out an allison or torqshift trans you can be at the mercy of some of those mtn grades, the 6 to 8% er's ..
I'm also putting in ceramic brake pads front and rear.
thx
It SHOULDN'T void the warranty. Just about every dealer I've heard of doesn't care about the exhaust brake.

In this situation, most dealers again don't really worry about improvements to the exhaust and intake. However, there are horror stories of ***** service writers who feel they should void a customer's warranty for any little thing. Those are few and far between.

Your ECM code on your 02 should be the same as mine (VDH2). The torque converter stays locked even with your foot on the brake down to like 35 mph or so (I forgot the exact speed, my truck has larger tires so it happens at a little higher speed). So unless you need to lock your torque converter at lower speeds, then you might not need it for braking purposes.

4r100

Even with a smaller program, if you are towing a heavy load in altitude, you will run a hotter engine. I would suggest some gauges to go with it. Now with the programmer, yes you can return the stock programming back prior to taking it to the dealer. There will be a code triggered, the KAM error (Keep Alive Memory). Just say that you removed the batteries or something, it has the same effect. If you do all these other mods, more than likely the service tech will assume that you have a chip or programming in the truck.
Unfortunately, any time you play, you'll have to pay. Be prepared ahead of time if you need to take your truck to the dealer for service. First, be nice to them, and describe in detail what's going on. Most of these guys are nice and willing to work with good customers. I doubt that you'll need to take your truck in for any problems anyway. At least that's my bet!
I see that you're from Alaska, my grandparents years ago bought a 33' travel trailer and drove from Houston to Alaska on their retirement trip. They got as far as New Mexico when their old truck broke down, so they bought a brand spankin new 1991 F-250 7.3L IDI with a 5-speed and continued on with their trip. When they made it back 5 1/2 months later, they had over 55K miles on their new truck. Talk about a LOOOOONNNNGGGGGG vacation.
Your grandparents probably had so much fun they just couldn't leave!!
Salmon, halibut, king crab etc etc!!
Going to get a CPS off of ebay. Will carry a 10mm socket and a flat blade screwdriver.
She's gone thru 2 already although the last time (was still under bumper to bumper warranty) they (dealer in CA.) 'shotgunned it with a new PCM + fuel module & CPS. Seemed to cure the 'every 10K devouring of the cps.
thx again..
