The fact of the matter is its a big truck not a civic. I dont understand all these post about mpg. Its a Truck its ment to get work done. If its just for looks thats fine but dont get mad when the milage isnt great. Try runnig 35s with 4.56 gears I get 9mpg. Trade them in if your looking for good fuel economy
I understand its not a civic 04yellowf150, but the fact is that my lifestyle demands a truck for hauling and other things. Just because someone works or drives a truck daily doesnt mean that they should just accept terrible gas mileage. I personally want the absolute best gas mileage I can get.
It sounds to me like if your running 35's and 4.56 gears then you are either really into looks and if thats the case then you are right, you have no room to complain about bad gas mileage because you basically brought it on yourself.
Actually I am not unhappy with the mileage I am getting. It's a hell of a lot better then what I was getting on my 1997 Expedition! I am running 5.4, 3:73 LS gears in a 2004 Lariat!
I can see if someone went from a Civic or passenger vehicle to the f150, but even then if you keep your foot out of it, it's not bad!
WOW you guys get good MPG with the V8s. I have a 05 Reg. cab long bed 4x2 with the V6 automatic and only get 13 to 14 MPG driveing it easy in town. I do get almost 20 MPG on the freeway with cruse set on 75.

Yeah, we do get pretty good mileage with the V-8's. A lot of people seem to forget that the truck still weighs the same no matter what motor you get. The larger motor doesn't mean your going to get terrible mileage. It simply maens that it is going to have more power and not have to work as hard to move the same load. I just refigured mine last night by hand to verify my mileage computer. I amd getting 17 MPG on a mixed drive 35-65MPH. Some city, some backroad, some 2 lane road. Overall I am very impressed at a 6500lb truck acheiving this kind of mileage. A friend of mine has the same truck just an ex cab instead of Screw, he is seeing the same mileage with his.
