Does anyone know where I can get the sizes of the frost plugs in a '69 360?
I will end up just measuring it but i was wondering if anyplace had just the list of the sizes. Thanks. I had one blow out on me yesterday.
Speaking of soft plugs, I just put new ones in the 390 I'm putting in my '75 highboy, an has I was fishin my finger around trying to get as much crud out as possible, before I installe the new ones, some jacka$$ left an ol one in the block! I manage to get it out, but wondered why he just pushed it thru and installed the new one. Only thing I come up with was that it was the center plug and he must have changed it out while motor was still in vehicle and couldn't get it cause of motor mount.
I don't know, but I don't think I would ever consider doing that to a motor I had.
Back on topic... Yes, just go to the parts counter and ask for a set of soft plugs.
I just went there after work today and they had 5 different sizes for block plugs, and at 70 cents a piece, so I bought all five Thanks for replying guys.
The dude behind the counter should have been smart enough to get you the kit with all the freeze plugs. The sides of the block require a size, then the rear of the block is te larger size. I know Clevite sells all of them in a box, an you get new set screws too, for the rear of the block.
'least you got em thou. Just don't pop one thruand leave er in there.
