steering noise/thump

steering noise/thump
When i turn the steering wheel it make thump noise and you can feel it in the steering wheel. It happens at the same amount of distance apart if you keep turning it. It seems as if you could tell someone who is learning how to drive to steer 3 clicks to the left to make the turn.

I have had some of the same problems with my 99. The front end makes noises when turning. I can also feelit in the steering coluimn. Sorry that I have no answer for you. Maybe someone can help us both out at sometime. Good luck.
