hey guys got my ford running again just redid the heads and intake leaks bu5t new problem now i cant get the pcv valve to fit is there a trick and does anyone no the part number for this.. thank you bryan
I have a '92 351W, probably the same setup. The PCV doesn't go into the valve cover. There's a plastic 90 degree elbow that fits into the grommet in the cover, and there's a hose that connects to it. The hose is kind of an "L" shape about 6" tall. The PCV valve goes into the top end of the hose with the barb pointing toward the plenum. Another hose 3/8" in diameter goes from the barb on the PCV to a barb fitting on the back side of the plenum. It's a ******* setup, but because of the plenum you don't have much of a choice.
If you lost the plastic elbow, you can get a new one from Motormite or the dealer. It's got a funny little flange on it to keep it from going too far into the valve cover. The hose that connects to it is molded, and if I remember right the ends might be 2 different sizes. Mine has a hose clamp to keep the PCV valve in place. There's a lot of vacuum on it, so be careful what kind of hose you use. You don't want it to collapse under vacuum.
