You should be able to purchase the disconnect tool from an auto supply store. Some are in a pack of three so you would have the correct size to choose from. They're not very expensive, maybe around ten bucks or so.
Thanks for the reply. I went to 3 parts dealers including Advance and they all had those plastic rings which were too long to fit between the spring release and the filter. I called the dealer and he said try Snap on. They didn't have one. Some guy said they are toolless, just push the orange color strip and it would pop off. I've got the inertia switch disconnected to depressuerize so i wanted to ask before i started pushing or pulling on the line. I took digital pictures to the stores and they just shrugged.
ya i went to to a couple parts dealers and they didnt have anything and they told me to go to a dealer, so i went to a dealer and they didnt know much either. i tried to take the lines of myself and i ended up breaking one of the plastic clips in half so only half is holding my fuel line on. i went to the dealer to buy some clips and they told me that they were built into to the fuel line, and the fuel line cost $230. so be careful, good luck
I got one of those spring clip couplers off with a small piece of thin gage aluminum wrapped around the tube on the fuel filter and then pryed on it gently with a screwdriver. I don't recommend doing this unless you have experience taking these couplers apart before. Don't pry very hard - just humor it a little - brute force will break things ...
Thanks to everyone that replied. I figured out how to get it off. The spring clips had 2 orange rings one on each 1/4" line and a green one on the 5/16" . After I disconnected the inertia switch in the passenger kick panel, I pushed the rings with a flathead screwdriver thru the opening on the outside of the clip. The fuel lines slide off real easy. If you're laying down like me, have a towel on you, because the gas came out the the filter fast. I had to loosen the bolt of the filter holder to get the filter out easy. The bolt was on the opposite side of the bed support. The spring clips then snapped onto the new filter easy. I then pushed the reset button on the inertia switch because it had popped. I cranked the engine twice and it starter right up. Thanks again for the advice.

Friend came over with his 03 B2300 and new fuel filter wanting to know how to get the lines loose; did a search and found your post. Pushed on the green and orange just like you indicated and lines came off in a breeze (or should I say a splash of gasoline!). No special tool needed. Thanks for posting how you did it.
