In my 400, when ever i get up around 2500-3500RPM it seems like the engine is flooding out. I have no loose vacum lines that i can see, my spark plugs are goldish brownish, and my timing is set to where i have a good smooth idle, i think its set at 8 degrees. Anyone know how to fix this?
How are your spark plugs and wires, cap, rotor etc. Is it under load when this occurs? A poor ignition system will work well at light load and start to fail under heavy load.
spark plugs are brand new and are a brownish color. the cap is brand new the rotor is in good shape. It happens when i get above 2500RPM. It sounds like it is flooding out.
No i havent replaced the fuel pump. I think it has the stock fuel pump. I dont know for sure because the engine has been rebuilt and i dont know everything that was done. I thought about buying a fuel pressure regulator a while back to hopefully solve this problem.
No it doesnt do this in neutral. It usually does it in 2nd-4th gear. And it only does it on occasion. But it is common enough to make it a problem. What should the fuel pressure be at?
