Spring pack differences
I have a 1969 F-250 4x4 and a 1971 F-250 Ranger. The Ranger has a GVW of 7500lbs, and the 4x4 is only 6800lbs. The Ranger has far fewer springs in the pack, but I believe they are wider and thicker. Does anybody know the advantages to having fewer or more leaves...and leaves that are wider or thicker? What was Ford trying to accomplish here?
