chips sold on ebay

chips sold on ebay
i was looking at those chips that are sold on ebay for 30.00 or less and say increase in horsepower about 15 to 20 and also boosts torque. anyone have used these and are they worth getting?.i am not ready for a tuner yet. if those chips are good which ones do you recomend.

You have a truck that is worth 30k or more new. It has a computer in it that has many many hours and dollars or research and developement. I personally would be affraid to hook something up to it that only cost $30. Now I know what your thinking...I want you to buy something from me. You can buy a quality item from any of the supporters of this site and I would be happy for you. I Just want you to think about that point. Yes its only $30, but what COULD go wrong? Maybe nothing....maybe alot. I've never seen one or used one. So I cant make a factual statement.

These $20 & $30 chips on ebay are not worth risking your truck over. Most of the time they're just resistors like Torque said and don't do very much for your truck. The saying applies here more than ever: "You get what you pay for". If you bite the bullet and spend the money you'll be glad you did if you ever hit a fork in the road or just need some help. Because on ebay, they're out there to make a buck. Most of the merchants on there have return policies, but they're just exchange and even then, some of them don't offer support.
