Hi, on my 302 fitted with a Holley 1850, i have removed the manual choke off the side some time ago, and today i noticed that the holes, there are about five, three to hold the bracket on, on one of them there is a vacuum, i cannot see what this one does, if anything! please help.
Looks to me like the vacuum port that supplies vacuum to an automatic choke, which is simply blocked off when a manual choke is installed. It should be plugged one way or another.

I agree with TD. That is a good size hole, but the question is how to block it off. A temporary fix would be a piece of duct tape and this may be the way to go if you ever want to put an automatic ckoke back on the carb. If you want a more permanant fix you could cut a piece of aluminum to fit the hole and epoxie it in with some JB Weld.
It could be plugged with a bit of epoxy putty, easy enough to drill out if you ever wanted to unplug it for the installation of an auto choke. (No need to unplug it if reinstalling the manual choke.)
BTW Markal, that TVR is beautiful! Fun too, I'll bet! I love small English cars with Ford V8s, sort of reminds me of...what was it, oh yeah, the Sunbeam Tiger! And that other car...the Snake or something like that...umm, yeah, the Cobra!
