Smile Air Bag Code 44

Any body ever Fix this Code 44 on a 98 F150 4x4 ?
Tell ya what I did . I hit a deer , and it bent the bumper down 1/2 inch , not much. Took it to the dealer and they FIXED the code TILL I LEFT THE PARKING LOT. I live quite ways from them and I never took it back like I should have.
I took the bumper off to straighten it yesterday. I disconnected thebattery . I took the rh sensor off and sensor mount looked bent a and I straghtend it and sandblasted the bolts to get a good ground. The bracket looks good that the sensor mounts to . Still get a code 44 anyway after all that .
Any Ideas ? of things I can try .

Not sure if I can help you, the following is for a 1995 but it may still apply.

PINPOINT TEST 44: RH FRONT AIR BAG SENSOR AND BRACKET NOT MOUNTED TO VEHICLE PROPERLY (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 44)

Normal Operation

The air bag diagnostic monitor measures the resistance between Pin 20 (Circuit 618, P/LG) and Pin 3 (diagnostic monitor reference ground). If the air bag diagnostic monitor measures a difference of more than 2.0 ohms between Pin 20 and Pin 3, it will flash out Code 44.

Note that Circuit 618 (P/LG) is riveted to the side of the RH front air bag sensor and bracket case and the case of the sensor is grounded to the vehicle at its mounting point.

Possible Causes

High resistance on Pin 20 (Circuit 618, P/LG) to ground can be caused by:

(1) A poor connection due to loose mounting, dirt, or corrosion at the RH front air bag sensor and bracket mounting location.

(2) An open or damaged wire in Circuit 618 (P/LG) from Pin 20 of the diagnostic monitor harness connector to RH front air bag sensor and bracket.

(3) An open wire or loose rivet inside RH front air bag sensor and bracket.

Follow the ground path further away from the bracket. There may some larger piece that is loose further away from the bracket.

Also make sure everytime you work on the sensor, you disconnect the battery and wait over 1 minute before reconnecting it. The system has a back-up power supply that will keep it alive for 1 minute, and it may not be clearing the code.
