Broken Antennae

My girlfriend to my F250 through a carwash and it broke the antennae off at the base of the connection.
Any idea if the entire unit would have to be replaced or can just the part coming out behind the hood can be replaced?
Are there any other aftermarket options for antennaes out there?

Did she break the antenna itself off, or part of the mount? The antenna is attached to the truck on a stud mount that's somewhere around 1/4-20. If she broke it off above the stud mount (most likely), you can simply unscrew the left-over pieces and screw a new antenna back on.

If she actually broke off part of the mount itself, you're going to have to replace the whole thing.

Well the unfortunate problem is that it broke at the base. Is the dealer going to be the cheapest place to get new unit.

If you need to replace it I think I would try a salvage yard before the dealer. They usually have barrels of antennas sitting around.
