I'm new to the forum, my truck is new to me, and i'm already having problems with it. I bought a 2005 F-250 with the 6.0 and auto trans with 10,600 miles on it. first i had to take it in for some recall work. then, i had to take it in for the check engine light. they replaced the turbo to fix the engine light issue. now, after the engine is well warmed, it doesn't matter if you're driving or sitting idle the truck has a Thud that you feel through the floor. it's short and quick but happens every 30 seconds or so, and it looks like the rpm's may jump up just a hair when this happens. is this a normal diesel thing or not. what is it? i told the dealer about it and like always they couldn't get it to happen. most of the time when i get it to start i've drivin for awhile, but once it starts it continues. Thanks, Kyle
the a/c compressor turns on and off to keep pressure down and your a/c system from exploding which will cause the idel to go up and down a little. im surprised you're able to hear or feel it though.
you might want to take it in to the place that did the recall work if they disturbed the ac freon lines or caused a leak in your system.Which could mean under charged or overcharged the system.

I have an F250 2005 PSD. Mine does the same thing. Has done it from day 1. When I bring it in for the next oil change, I'm going to ask about it. It is a pretty significant thud for a compressor.
I have an 02 f250,,,, i hear a thunp thud whatever when first staring off down the road, done it since day one,,,,, sounds like a damper hatch or door "whumping" closed,,,,,,,,,,, after 32K miles, never had it checked

His repeats every 30 seconds or so. I've never heard of a blend door or a compressor slug happening except shortly after starting. And it only happens one time. It has to be something other than these.

my )3 super duty with a 6.0 does it too. While watching under the hood, its the a/c lines along with the accumulator jolting when the compressor starts cycling. Knowing what it is, I no longer care about it.
