the engineers cant fix them how do thay expect us ford techs to fix them
a lot of the problems are programing issues
I agree with you there.... I know they don't give the front line guys enough time to properly diagnose and fix problems, But when a customer has a complaint and he can see there is a problem, Don't just say "Thats how they all are".
I can understand if you can't isolate it or that you are unsure what you can do to help.
I took the tech for a ride and showed him what it is doing. He said "Bring it back in and he would look at it again". That leads me to believe he agrees there is a problem. Then after I spend another day in the shop they come back and say " nothing wrong, thats how they all are".
Sorry just a little ranting from a frustrated owner....
This is the reason I bought a Bully dog Moniter. I made both EGT work but you don't need to do anything to use one. Just follow the instructions and plug it in. I keep voltage as one of the things I watch since they took out the guage.... My check lite comes on occaisionally while driving. The code will come up on the bottom of the unit if one exists. You can reset on the fly. Mine has said no codes so I reset the light and keep going...The dealer at service time has never found a code. I carry a copy of all the code #'s in the glove box...I'm sure other moniters do this too but the Bully is easy to use...Good Luck

That is why I sent for the Scanguage monitor. I should get it next week. then iI will be able to write down any codes and monitor the different parameters.
Is there a way that I can reset my check engine light myself (to turn it off) without taking it to my dealer? This is the second time in a couple of years that the light came on after a cold weather start.
