I have a machine shop rebuilt 240 six cyl. ready to go into my '70 F-250. When I purchaed the motor mounts only the passenger side would fit. The drivers side would not fit. The bracket top hole would not line up properly. I took the mount back to the parts store and they said that is what it calls for. Got my money back and tried another store only to tell me they had the same as the other. I'm at a third parts store waiting for the mount to come in tomorrow. Has anyone had this problem before?????
I had the same problem with my '79 300. The tranny mount was no problem, but the passenger side motor mount was a bear to get the right one. There were two different styles for each side. If I remember correctly the driver's side was easy to pickout between the two, but the passeneger side took careful examination of the part on my truck and the replacement candidate. This is where you'll learn which parts stores are good. The last one I went to (three in all) let me take them out of the store and match them up to what I had under the hood. Make sure you get one with fresh rubber. One store tried to sell me one that looked like it had been sitting on the shelf in the sun for years..the rubber was detiorating badly. By the way, search E-bay motors (ford 6 cyl) and there's a set up for auction that look good. I'd buy it for $20...you have a 50/50 chance you get the right ones for a fraction of the cost for all three. You can't lose on the tranny mount if you have a C4. Shipping's probably rough though...

What year is the motor? If you are not sure, look by the starter and read the engine casting code. Post that code as it will give a general idea.
