Talking Planned trip

Hi guys, so much help I have recieved from this site since joining. I have a small favor to ask to all of the experinced.
The wife and me are planning a trip to New Mexico in Sept. and are wanting to know what spare parts I should be packing along besides a fuel filter and cps. The truck had 176,000 on it in Jan. when we bought it , and just under 180,000 now. Hope to have a new exaust on it before we go. So far everything seems fine. Or maybe I should quit worrying and go, it's not like we havn't gone out west before, first time with a diesel.

DISLFVR,
My wife and I worried about our trip to Ca. We pulled a 30' Fifth wheel for a total of 6500 miles and did not have a seconds trouble with the 1997 F350 Powerstroke. Take a gallon of coolant, oil and an extra air filter. We have an 01 powerstroke 350 dually now and went out to Yellowstone, Rushmore and Glacier, same good trip except tires shredded on the camper in Rapid City SD. Just take your time, and enjoy the views.

not that you SHOULD need it (not that you should need the filter and CPS either ) I would keep a few quarts of engine and transmission oil in the truck too. and if you NEED to change a tire, use the t wrench in the truck or use a 13/16" socket and breaker bar. always carry a gallon or so of distilled water, a flashlight and spare batteries.

Don't forget to take along enough fuel additive to get you through the trip. You never know where you can and can't find it on the road. And, you also have no idea what kind of fuel you may run into while on the trip.

Ummm guys, I have 428,000 miles on my 7.3 and Drive between Ohio, Indy, and Arizona about once a week in the truck. There are plenty of wally worlds between here and there. If, and I say if, you have problems that requires more than a quart of anything your getting towed and on the side of the road. The most desolate locations is going to be between Amarillo and Albuq. This trip alone I have changed a fuel pump on the side of the road and wore dino pee, watch a guy live the last 30 second of his life as I passed him and a big truck plowed into him, smashed a new trailer I have to deliver, and right now I have to change a water pump on the side of the road. So, I doubt you will have any problems on vacation. HAVE FUN AND DONT LOOK BEHIND YOU!!!!! Talk to you later.
