Does anybody have any specs on the location and replacement of the cabin filter. The dealer indicates it could be under the windshield wiper cowling or under the passenger side glove compartment. I checked both and do not see it. The inside compartment looks like it would be quite a task to remove the bottom portion of the heater assembly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks, So does that mean the air coming into the cabin does not have any filtering of any kind? I looked it up on the NAPA website and it shows as a listed part. Is my dealership trying to rip me off? They say I need the cabin filter replaced. I think I will ask them to show me where it is next time I get some maintenance done.
They also tried to charge me $95 to change my fuel filter. They said I needed a special tool to take it off and my fuel pump will overheat if it is not completed. I went and got the part for $10 and the connectors are finger snap on/off. Also, The filter has a bleed back to the tank in case of pressure or plugging. All that should happen is the car stalling when it gets plugged. Any thoughts on this one.
No cabin filter in your year - although if you have the heated/cooled seats, there is a filter to change - it's under the seats. As far as what they claim to do at the specified maintenance interval servicing, it's all just BS. They claimed to have gone through the engine and re-gapped the plugs - I kind of doubt it by the lack of any disturbance of the dust on the COPs. When you get your printout, they'll be a bunch of BS on it that, if you ask, they acutally didn't do - because "it's not required for your car". They just print it on the receipt anyway.
I don't know how much it is - it's about five inches square and a hafl-inch thick. To see it you have to be looking under the front seats from the rear - with your head on the carpet.
