Cabin air filter replacement instructions

Does any one have info on location of cabin air filter, and any guidance for replacing? I have a 2000 Limited.

According to the dealers I've talked to, there is no cabin filter on the Excursion. I find it quite hard to belive, but maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in.

I just checked it out; it's not a filter at all. In fact, I don't even know what it is, much less what it's there for.

There's no such thing on the Excursion. It would be nice if they had thought to include this feature. Our '05 Passat TDI has the filter and it collects a LOT of crud.

Take Care

The only reason I asked is that my manual says to replace it. You would think one exists if they tell you to replace it. I'll have to ask the dealer.

I wouldn't be surprised if your dealer offers to replace it for you.

You read the manual? What kind of man are you anyways? Men do it first then read the manual when all else has failed.

Talking Cabin filter

Hey Aklim, I'm with you. My Dad has said that as far back as I can remember. My son's will say the same thing about me. I also have a Passat, The inside of the cabin is so clean. The cabin filter is a yearly thing on my list. I'm going to get into my manual and truck and see what I can find. Lets make us a group effort.

??????

If you have some spare time, have at it. Trust us, the Excursions of any year do NOT have a cabin air filter. I certainly wish it did, as I have an '05 Passat TDI also and I can see what kind of garbage the filter collects.

Take Care

Thanks very much for the information. I would have spent forever looking for the thing and probably scratching up my hands looking under and behind everything.

There's one less maintenance item for me to worry about.

So you are not interested in buying a few Excursion Cabin Air Filters?
