I can't believe this!

I Ordered a 03' F350 CC LB FX4 DRW on 1/7/2003. Ordered the majority of options including the Moonroof. Dealer calls me some 7 working days later to tell me Ford is telling them the Moonroof is now a quote: "Controlled Commodity", which means my build date and delivery date cannot be processed. I'm on HOLD and no one at the dealer can tell me why or how long a wait. I could not sleep after I ordered it and now I really will never get sleep. I AM SO DEPRESSED. They are trying to get me to take it with out the Moonroof!! I refuse!! I planned to be buried in this truck. I want it the way I ordered it. Anybody got the same bad news?? Anybody got info. or a guess at what I'm looking at in terms of a wait??

I am also sorry to hear about your truck. The unfortunit thing is that the dealer basically has no control. A lot of people don't realise that the dealer is at the mercy of the factory and there isn't much the dealer can do about it. There is also an alotted amount of vehicles the dealership can order and if they hit that mark and don't get more theres not a lot they can do.

Well I guess we meet again Alan.
And my secret identity is exposed.
I reffered you here not knowing you allready been.
I'm depressed hearing this news myself. My truck is floating around who knows where, and I'm told it was built and shipped in December.
I dont know if my leg is being yanked or what. I'm playing the waiting game an if they try to get me to accept some other truck without the moonroof I will be really upset. I could be getting the lag treatment but I can't tell. Good luck an try that customer relations link.

I received an e-mail from you,
Noticed your expecting new truck any day and you ordered the factory Moonroof as an option. I just ordered a f350 LB 4x4 crew cab about a week ago. Dealer is now telling me Moonroof is what ford is calling a "controlled commodity" and cannot give me vin# no. because of this and no delivery date, cause all of a sudden it is temporalirly not available for some reason. Really has me bummed out, but I refuse to accept the answer they gave me and accept truck without one. Wondering if you had any problem such as this. Thanks for any input you can give me. ALLEN
