Bendix Power Steering box
Prior to the changes I was running a Ford p/s box off a '74 3/4 ton. Along with the Ford box, I was using a modified steering column; '70 lower half welded to a '78 Mustang II upper half (for the cruise control). I didn't like the quickness, so I put the Bendix box from the '67 in place of it. Of course I conveniently forgot that all these old boxes need new seals. Result -- it leaks like a sieve at the steering column shaft end.
THE QUESTION -- Does anyone know where to get the seals for these old Bendix boxes. They were an option Ford offered, but apparently not too many were used. My local parts store (Honey, I'm home) can't locate any, and the Ford dealer will only sell me a rebuilt assembly. They won't even give me a part number for the upper seal. That's why the dealers never get my business.
Anyway, if you can help, I would truly appreciate it.
