Well the race car sold so now it's time for a new project to take up the empty hole in the driveway. Wanting to do something a little different this time. If anyone comes across a late 70s International Scout ll, give me a shout. something that isn't pristine, can't afford pristine!! About all I can afford is "project".
In this week`s Western Producer is an ad for a 79 IHC Scout 4X4. Factory air, removable top, runs & drives and is supposed to be excellent for restoration in Westlock Alberta for $3,500. Phone 780-349-7208.
Buying the crew instead was an excellent choice.
By the way this ad isn`t a hint, just thought you might find it interesting reading.
I ain't complaining about the Crew, that's for sure!! That is going to help me with the next project!! Thanks for the ad, going to call about one that surfaced here in Winnipeg!!
I like those scouts too, they are cool. My friend back home has one but its pretty far gone, I dont believe it has a motor or tranny with it. Thatd be a long tow for a far gone project but if your interested I can ask him.
Saw one this morning, mechanicals were good, but the body was pretty bad, entire floor was gone, plus outer skins, fenders, inner fenders. Waiting on an answer for another one near here.
I seen one on usedsaskatchewan.com not too long ago. This spring. It needed work by the picture. It maybe still there. My wifes nephew bought one all restored in B.C. I thought it was very nice, she thought it was ugly. Not many around that are not a basket case with rust. I see a yellow one around here in Saskatoon driving.
My brother has a 66 Scout 800 for sale. (I think its an 800) Came from Montana, so body is really good. 304 AMC v8, 3spd tranny. Owner in Montana swapped in Chebby axles & steering components. Has brand new 33x9.5 BF A/T's and aluminum wheels. As far as I know, he still wants to sell it.
