Drum brake replacements
I have an F250 (2wd, front disk, rear drum) and the brakes are getting worse. The e-brake doesn't work and the brakes have always been poor. Recently, the brakes have gotten dangerous by not stopping soon enough. I get this wierd feeling like one of the two front calipers is not working, because when I slam hard on the pedal, the truck seems to wobble a bit. Also, I honestly doubt that the rear brakes are even working.
Work performed recently: new- front left caliper, front brakes, master cylinder, turned rotors, packed bearings
Question: I have done drums before but not like this. There are 8 lugs on the wheel and 8 center bolts on the hub. When the wheel and center bolts are removed, a rod pulls out of the center with a gasket on it. Oil pours out as well. What do I do next? Take the center large nut off? The information I have seen is conflicting. Also, How do I replace the oil?
thank you
