what rear? what do you mean by reverse rotation? there is no such thing as reverse rotation. all differentials rotate the same, high pinions rotate on the other side of the gear and are sometimes called reverse rotation... thats about all i've heard of for that term...
there aint no such thing as a reverse rotation axle. there were front high pinion axles with reverse cut gears but they still rotated in the same direction. if you are trying to figure out if its high pinion or not just look at it, if the pinion is about at the centerline then it isnt if it is more towards the top then it is.
yes some of the gear companies have started calling them reverse rotation, mainly because people have used that misnomer for years, heck do you really think you have a firewall in your vehicle? start an engine fire and see how well it protects the interior. Basically sometimes the aftermarket just calls thing by a popular name even if it's wrong just so people know what it is.
i apologise for getting the name wrong, dont do many gear changes on dana 44. done more back rears, or rears on other types of vehicles then this particular rear. just did not want to get this wrong when ordering the gears, which is now done. really appreciate the help and info. thank you
