As that title states I am trying to remove the rear rotors on a 2004 4WD without damaging the rotor, I have read about beating the hell out of it with a hammer but I need to get them turned so I cannot afford any damage.
I am doing the brakes for a friend that is somewhat limited on money so that leaves new rotors out of the picture.
With a drift (wood block) and a sledge, you just can't hurt a rotor. If it's frozen on, get CRC or any of the rust-dissolving lubricants.
A little MAP gas torch action can help release frozen parts. A hot torch can crack a rotor ... : )
