While at the Ford parts dept. today, I saw a sunglass holder in their accessory display case, inquired about it, and he wound up giving it to me because it did not have any attachment elastic. The bag details were:
Part number V4L3Z-7811586-AA
"Holder Sunglasses"
Vendor: H5914
Has a bar code VT7472 - Made in China
Reverse of the part has a label "Made In China 07/03/Y".
The part is black, about 6-3/4" wide by 6-1/2" high, holds two sunglasses, and has "F-150" in the 2004+ font (sort of a rounded corner on the 'F').
Has anyone got one of these, and if so, how do you attach it? I guess it will go on the visor with some elastic, but I'm wondering it if may go elsewhere in the truck.
FYI, the bins aren't cheap ... and you'd need the rail to put them on. So, if you don't have that, good luck figuring how how to use the insert. You could probably sell it on EBAY for a few bucks if you wanted to.
GordoPanocho is right. I have one in my 04 SCREW FX4. You will have to get the rail system installed. That enables you to put different attachments such as the sunglass holder, the DVD system, or whatever else they make available for the rail.
Wait....Wait......Wait.......Is it just me or what ? I was under the understanding that all of our trucks came with the rail system already installed in them. This was supposed to be one of the many improvements and new items that were installed with the new body syle. Am I wrong about this ? I know that mine came with it already installed.
The ford webpage says that the rail system is only available on Supercabs and Supercrews. With that said, it is optional on the XLT, FX4, and the Lariat packages. It is standard on the King Ranch, and Harley-Davidson edition. The site says the rail system is not available on the XL or STX. Also, it goes without saying that if the truck has a moon roof, there can't be one regardless of what edition or package it is.
Thanks for all of that information. If you noticed, my truck is a SCREW w/the XLT package, no sun roof. But hey, I appreciate that informed answer. Thanks.
